Ingredients

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp active dry yeast
- ½ cup warm water
- 1 tsp salt

- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 tbsp olive oil

Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Make the Dough
In a large bowl, mix flour, salt, and yeast. Gradually add warm water and olive oil, stirring until combined. Knead on a lightly floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth and stretchy. Cover and let rest for 1 hour until puffed up.
Step 2: Shape the Dough
Punch down the dough and knead briefly. Roll out to about ¼ inch thick on a floured surface.
Step 3: Cook the Flatbread
Skillet Option: Heat a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat. Cook dough for 2-3 minutes per side until golden and slightly charred.
Oven Option: Preheat oven to 450°F. Place dough on a baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes until golden.
Step 4: Add Topping
Mix za’atar, minced garlic, and olive oil. Brush or spread over the warm flatbread.
Step 5: Serve
Slice into wedges or strips and serve warm.
